What Makes Pika's Liège Waffles So Special?

Authentic Liège waffles are one of life’s great indulgences — caramelized sugar glistening on the most delicious buttery-sweet, vanilla-laden treasure beneath. Unfortunately, they can be nearly impossible to find, even in their homeland of Belgium, where chain retailers have taken them so far afield from their 18th century brioche roots.

Here in the US, most 'Belgian' waffle purveyors don’t use the right sugar.  Many simply import mass-produced substandard pre-made frozen balls of dough from Europe. Basically, to enjoy the curiously oblong Liège waffle, you need to try one of ours!  I know, many of our fans wait patiently in long lines.  Making our classic Liège waffles is an involved process that takes patience, but the result is well worth it.  The crunch of the perfectly caramelized sugar, the delight of the perfect waffle batter, yup, we know how to get it just right.

We are proud to offer the smooth and complex flavors of a true Liège waffle. Get ready to experience a traditional 18th century “Gaufre de Liège.”  Come see us at one the Farmer's Markets we sell at this weekend.  Here's a list of events and markets. Or you can order online today!
